In Bear’s Top 25 Man Moments episode, Bear tells us about the most trying and difficult situations he had faced during the shoot. We all know Bear is a versatile adventurer up for any task and ready to eat any good but in few episodes of Man vs Wild Bear too found eating few things difficult. For instance in the sahara he had to eat some part of a goat when he puked. There was also this episode where he showed alergic reactions to bee stings and almost turned blind. In the discovery channel show, he tells us about them all himself.

In this episode of Man vs Wild, Bear is put in the north african region and is made to traverse the enitre northern part of the dark continent. He crosses the Sahara desert to the North Africa coast on foor equipped with only his usual stuff, the camping kettle, his SOG navy Seal’s knife and a fire steel. Here he catches an octopus for his dinner. He shows which parts are edible and which are not and how to clean the darn thing. He fashions a shelter out of acacia trees and even dines on moths and locusts.

yet another episode of Man vs Wild starring Bear Grylls , the survivlaist takes us into Guatemala. Bear Grylls rappels onto a live volcano in Guatemala. This volcano is very active and considering te risk taken, this episode is worth the time it took to watch. Bear Grylls next navigates a waterfall in an underground cave telling us how to do it and how not to do it. He scavenges food from whatever nature has provided in the area and even tries to show us the method to create a nest to safely sleep in but gets an unwelcome bed buddy, and encounters ancient Mayan ruins.The final lesson to be learnt here is … to survive harsh conditions with only the limited tools available like a SOG navy Seal’s Knife, a basic camping kettle and water bottle, and a fire flint you must know the method to do stuff !!

Bear Grylls takes on Big Sky Country. He paraglides above the Rockies in the very first scene. Para gliders would know how difficult it is to land in the rockies for one wrong step and you will not survive the fall. Bear Grylls is a survivor and he does it with ease. He then traverses vast gullies, and makes the most of abandoned debris which has now become his trademark. Of course survivors in such areas would not get their hands on tools and it is these debris that he must start using to survive the scenario. Bear as ususal only carries his fire flint, his survival kettle and the bits and pieces and of course his favorite SOG Navy Seals Knife. And finally makes his great escape on a moving train.

If you had geography in your school you would probably be knowing how often and frequently Typhoon hits china and how often the yellow river Hwang Ho floods into the country killing numerous people. In Southern China Bear Grylls arrives in the aftermath of a tropical typhoon. He tackles swollen rivers which are flooded because of the water over flow, scales slippery limestone faces, avoids disaster with stinging ants, and utilizes ancient tribal techniques to catch bats for food. Chinese people are known for their fitness and did you know bats are a part of the diet if survival is on the menu. If you probably follow Bear Grylls’ tweets you would ve noticed his tweet “hit by hurricane in chinese jungle! interesting!”.

Bear Grylls has found himself on a deserted Panamanian island. This island is not a big one and is very low on resources too. There, he is forced to create fresh water from the ocean water ( must ve thought ” Water water everywhere , not a single drop to drink !! “) and chooses to use tribal fishing techniques. These techniques include spiking fishes that are swimming around and eating shell fishes that wash to the shore and thaose which are resting underneath the watre surface. he later builds himself a make shift raft and decides to battle the rough ocean with whaterer he can. The main trouble was to stay hydrated as sea is one place whiere dehydration is a huge killer. To survive in such harsh conditions , you must know how to live through them and survive. With the least survival tools that he usually carries with himself like the fire flint, the army knife and the kettle bear shows us how to survive the test. Later in the episode he gives himself an enegma in order to stay hydrated on the open seas.

Just off tonight to China for a jungle episode of Man Vs Wild. Nervous. Excited. (Both emotions that I feel a lot of on this show!)

Just had a lovely cosy week with family at home and had a fun evening with some Scouts at the premiere of Disney’s film:Up, in London. Great film!
